The Grand-Vabre village hall, at the invitation of the tourist office, offered a new nature day dedicated to the history of the Lot and Dourdou rivers, as well as that of the famous gastronomic dish stockfish. Around 80 people were present and this subject won over the very attentive public during the broadcast of the documentary and the various interventions. The entertainment began with the broadcast of a film “Conques, the red river” directed by Hélène Sirieys as part of the landscape study of the Grand Site de project. The public was then able to discuss the subject with the director and Laure Vigouroux, project manager at the Syndicat Mixte de préfiguration du Grand Site. Next came the storyteller André Romiguière with his presentation and his anecdotes on the Lot river, an industrious and commercial river, then Christian Bernad, former president of the association for the development of the Lot valley and MarieClaude Manharic from the restaurant “Chez Marie” spoke about stockfish, estofinaires and their brotherhood. The afternoon ended with a friendly drink then, for some, continued with a good meal, the main course of which was a succulent stockfish prepared by Julien and his team from the Chez Marie restaurant.
