Djibril Cissé returns to the French team… for the 6-a-side Football World Cup

Former French international, Djibril Cissé will play in the 6-a-side World Cup (Socca World Cup) under the jersey of the team. Ludovic Obraniak will also be there.

Return to Blue for Djibril Cissé. More than 13 years after his last selection for the French team, on October 7, 2011 against Albania, the former and OM striker (43 years old) will play in the 6-a-side Football World Cup, the Socca World Cup.

Djibril Cissé, today AJA attackers coach and television consultant, put away his crampons in 2021 after a final experience at Panathinaikos Chicago. “We try to do everything muscularly to make it hold. The rest, we manage,” smiles the man with 96 goals in 209 Ligue 1 matches in a video published on the Instagram account of the French football team at 6.

Obraniak also selected

For this tournament, organized from November 29 to December 7 in Oman, Djibril Cissé will notably team up with Ludovic Obraniak (40 years old), another well-known face in Ligue 1. Unlike Cissé, Obraniak has never worn the jersey of the French team. However, he was international 34 times with Poland.

Quarter-finalist of the last edition, in 2023, the French 6-a-side football team is precisely in the group of the Polish selection in this Socca World Cup. The Blues will begin their tournament on November 30 against Turkey (6 p.m.), before continuing against Poland (December 2 at 3 p.m.), Pakistan (December 4 at 2 p.m.) and Haiti (December 5 at 3 p.m.).
