A majestic oak North-sur-Erdre (Loire-Atlantique) represents the region of Loire regionin the Tree of the Year 2024 competition which is organized by theNational Forestry Office (NFB). Internet users have until Friday December 20 pour vote online.

Who will succeed the weeping beech of Bayeux in Normandy, 2023 winner of the Tree of the Year competition which is organized by theNational Forestry Office (NFB)?
Verdict on January 13, 2025. Until then, the votes are open until December 20, 2024.
It is a majestic oak and at least 74 years old which represents the Pays-de-la-Loire region this year. Located at North-sur-Erdre in Loire-Atlantique, he has already obtained 56 votes.
3m30 high, from the ground to the plateau from which the main branches extend at 1m40, it measures 2m90 in circumferencewhere the part of its trunk is narrowest.
Its precise age is undetermined but aerial photographs of itNational Institute of Geographic and Forestry Information (IGN) attest to its presence since 1950.
The 14th edition of the competition
Internet users are asked to vote on the sitearbredelannee.com among 14 trees which wear the colors of different French regions.
The one who gathers the most votes will receive the public award.
The chosen tree will represent France during the final of the European Tree of the Year Competition in February 2025.
The Tree of the Year competition is organized by'National Forestry Office (NFB), the Terre Sauvage magazine and theassociation A.R.B.R.E.S.
This 14th edition is placed under the sponsorship of the journalist Gérald Arianoproducer of the show “Bougez vert”, on Ushuaïa TV. He will chair the competition jury.
