Indeed, 400 contracts were signed with approved ELV centersmarking a rather favorable reception for this individual system launched after obtaining official approval in June 2024.

This approval, published on June 28, 2024 in the Official Journal, is part of the AGEC law of February 2020, which aims to strengthen the management of end-of-life vehicles while combating illegal practices. With this initiative, Volkswagen Group France and MAN Truck & Bus France jointly assume their extended producer responsibility (EPR) for the recycling of vehicles of their respective brands.

An expanding network

The deployment of this network began with the signing of the first contract in September 2024. Two months later, 400 ELV centers committed to this process. The objective is to reach 600 to 800 centers by the end of 2025, an ambitious but essential challenge to cover the entire French territory and guarantee recycling in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Volkswagen Group France invites interested ELV centers to join this initiative. Applications can be submitted via the dedicated platform, www.ChartecoVHU.fr.
