What if we treated ourselves to an all-you-can-eat brunch, or even on the terrace, homemade and with good local products? Head to Yvelines, to discover the hidden Cour des Senteurs where the Chez Molly tea room is hidden, which treats us every weekend to a delicious brunch, a stone’s throw from the Château de Versailles.
Did you know that we could be facing the Castle of Versailles while being on a terrace in peace? The Courtyard of Scentsit’s a bit like a little Paradise sheltered from the tumult of Versailles. This is where you can find Chez Mollythis charming tea Room whose decoration is inspired by Marie-Antoinette and Alice in Wonderland.
Every weekend, Saturday and Sundaywe taste a all you can eat brunchfrom 12:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. SATURDAY and in two sessions from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., the Sunday. For €39.90, you get a hot drink of your choice, a all-you-can-eat sweet and savory buffet as well as a dessert to choose from a beautiful range of homemade cakes with love, we are told. The rest of the time, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday, Friday and Saturday, we enjoy the tea room with its delicious pastries and innovative cocktails.
At the head of the tea room, we find Mollya lawyer by profession, but an inveterate foodie who loves baking. To give free rein to her passion, she decided two years ago to open a tea room a stone’s throw from her office, in Versailles. To delight us, she targets fresh and local products, gets her supplies from the nearby Versailles market halls, gets her salmon from Pétrossian, her Champagne from small producers and her tea from Nina’s Marie Antoinette, supplier to the royal court since 1672.
Coffee from Illy, chai from La Main Noire, pastries from Maison Hervet in Versailles and cocktails created by Matthias Giroud, a great mixologist that we love, that’s what awaits you. Everything else is homemade, on site, in joy and good humor.
We are just as comfortable indoors, sheltered, as outside to enjoy the sun on the beautiful terrace. We begin our brunch with the choice of a boisson chaude. Coffee, cappuccino, chocolate, latte or macchiato are waiting for you. Since it’s hot, we opt for the Ice coffee latte (yes, it’s not a hot drink, but it’s the same).
Our choice then falls on the pastriesfruit salads, farmhouse yogurt, various spreads and buns plump filled with hazelnut chocolate. Then place the cold cuts, cheesesvarious salads, croque monsieur varied and gua bao garnished for an Asian touch.
The waiters remind us, we have to save a place for the dessert ! Indeed, once you have enjoyed this generous and constantly replenished buffet, we open the drawers where a farandole of large cakes of all kinds is hidden. From chocolate fondant to strawberry tart, pistachio rhubarb tart, fruit dacquoises and soft mango-passion or lemon, the hardest part is choosing. We opt for a small piece of 3 cakes and here we are ready to roll.
Since you’re here, you might as well ride while strolling around the garden of scents in continuity with the courtyard. You will discover the essences of the great perfume houses in a green and flowery setting.
So, we make ourselves a charming brunch in Yvelines ? Remember to book by private message on Instagram or by phone at 09 83 76 14 14.
