“Fraud is stealing!” Paid transport tickets = financed network. » The communication campaign that Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) is deploying until the end of the year on the buses of the various operators in the inner and outer suburbs has the merit of clarity. Just over a month before the entry into force of the transport “big bang” and the replacement of the multitude of current fares with only two types of single-fare ticket (2 euros for buses and trams and 2 .50 euros for trains, metros and RER) whatever the destination, the organizing authority for Ile-de-France transport would like to point out that fraud further reduces the organization's financing capacity.
The stakes are high. The simplification of the ticketing system (which will result in savings for many occasional travelers from the outer suburbs) could lead to an annual drop in revenue of 30 million euros in 2025. Valérie Pécresse, the president (LR) of Île- de-France Mobilités – which announced a strengthening of the means of control and sanction of users who travel without a ticket – is banking on the fight against fraud to compensate for the shortfall from the single ticket.
