To help private owners, the Nantes start-up Sylvamap has developed several sustainable management tools since 2011. Using a base map from the National Institute of Geographic and Forestry Information (IGN), everyone can now create their own database on their smartphone and generate maps that can be transmitted to the administration. These simple documents also make it possible to enter practical information on the planned work, cutting and planting, to create a real history and a photograph of a wooded area over the years.
So far, 300 owners managing some 120,000 hectares of forest have already placed their trust in the Nantes start-up.
