As part of the “Daily Cycling plan”a cycle path was recently inaugurated between the town of Semussac (Charente-Maritime) and the College of Old Vines of Cozes. This cycle path, 6.5 kilometers long, will allow middle school students to reach their school in complete safety.
This is the very first route of the “Daily Cycling Plan” set up by the Department in order to develop cycling among college students. In this way, the departmental council contributes 50% to the financing of cycle paths.
119 cycle routes will be created
As part of the “Everyday Cycling Plan”, 119 cycle routes were defined by the Department's teams with the different municipalities and communities of municipalities and agglomerations of Charente-Maritime.
These axes represent approximately 560 kilometers of potential cycle routes. The creation of these cycle routes will be spread over several years.
