Less than 90 triangular: will the Republican barrier hold? – Sens public

23 days after the announcement of the dissolution, the aftershocks of this political earthquake still do not stop. To counter the strong surge of the National Rally, the government is encouraging its candidates who came third in a three-way race to withdraw. More than 200 withdrawals have already been recorded. At least 81 come from the majority and 129 emanate from the left-wing coalition. For Renaissance and its allies, as for the New Popular Front, the republican front remains on the agenda. A position that the RN castigates: for Marine Le Pen, the voting instructions are “the worst contempt for voters”, recalling the role of the voting booth in the election. In the presidential camp, the barrier to the RN is gradually becoming a watchword. Because for Emmanuel Macron, only the nationalist party is capable of accessing power, unlike the New Popular Front. A subtle, unexpected support for the left as the Macronists fought La France Insoumise and a large number of its positions described as “anti-Semitic” in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of October 7. How does the Le Pen party counter this strategy of the barrier? Is the hypothesis of an ungovernable chamber and a political crisis the most likely? We discuss this with Lucile Schmid, vice-president of the think-tank “La Fabrique Écologique”, Jean-Sébastien Ferjou, founder and director of Atlantico, and Stéphane Zumsteeg, director of the opinion department at the Ipsos polling institute.
