Three people were injured, two of them seriously, after an accident on Monday in the NovAsco factory (formerly Ascometal) in Hagondange in Moselle, Bleu Lorraine learned from a union source.

The accident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. A furnace exploded in the steel factory and molten steel spilled out. Three employees were injured, two of them seriously. They were transported to the burns department of Mercy, near .

A psychological unit must be set up in the coming hours and an extraordinary CSE (economic and social committee) must be quickly convened to shed light on the accident.

The Hagondange company manufactures steel bars, recalls France Bleu Lorraine Nord. Long called Ascometal, the factory was renamed NovAsco a few months ago, after its takeover by the British investment fund Greybull Capital.
