Pierre-Yves Marolleau does not hide the fact that he has had a lot on his mind since he learned of Philippe Robin’s candidacy under the RN-Ciotti label in the legislative elections in the 3e constituency of Deux-Sèvres.
At the start of the Agglo2B community council this Tuesday, July 2, its president explained what led him to sign a decree suspending the delegations of the 11the Vice-President of the Agglomeration of Bocage Bressuirais.
Since mid-June, I have had no contact from him. I consider this to be a mark of total disloyalty.
Pierre-Yves Marolleau, president of Agglo2B Mauléon
Before calling on elected officials to confirm this decision by a vote, Pierre-Yves Marolleau wants to dot the i’s and cross the t’s. “This is a deliberation that I could have done without. As soon as I was elected president, I specified two rules: limit the accumulation of mandates and work with a diverse team but without official representatives of the extremes, left or right. And this was not wishful thinking.”
The President describes Philippe Robin’s candidacy as “unpleasant surprise” and adds disappointment to it. “Since mid-June, I have had no contact from him. I consider this to be a mark of total disloyalty. I am not submitting this deliberation to you lightly, but I want to be able to continue to look at myself in the mirror.”
A vice-president is elected by the 75 members of Agglo2B on the proposal of the president. He is not elected by the people. His delegations are given to him by the president who can withdraw them.
Pierre-Yves Marolleau, president of Agglo2B Bressuire
Pierre-Yves Marolleau does not contradict the validity of the electors’ vote. “This vote is the result of fears in a society that is fracturing. The right and the left have become more radical. Whose fault is it? I have no certainty. I observe. If a similar candidacy for France Insoumise had presented itself, I would have acted in exactly the same way.”
The president of Agglo2B wants to debunk a few untruths. “A vice-president is elected by the 75 members of Agglo2B on the proposal of the president. He is not elected by the people. His delegations are given to him by the president who can withdraw them. I consider that disloyalty and lack of frankness justify this.”
No justification, just explanations
Pierre-Yves Marolleau saw certain reactions provoked by his decision. “We would not be true democrats? But how can we describe someone who hides such political commitment? It is up to him to justify himself, but we have neither seen nor heard him. As for those who preach, I point out to them that a vice-president, even after being deprived of his delegations, remains a community advisor.”
Emmanuelle Ménard seizes the opportunity to decipher the municipal situation in Bressuire. “I completely agree with this decision”specifies the mayor of Bressuire.
“Philippe Robin was elected on the Bressuire and you list. I was not informed of his candidacy. I only spoke to him on the phone on Sunday evening. I told him that the list would meet on Monday and that we were all shocked. We asked him to resign to be consistent and we have not had a response. He remains a municipal councillor for Bressuire but is no longer part of our political team.”
“I would have made the same decision”
The vote has not yet taken place, but Serge Bouju also wishes to give his full support to this decision. “If I had been faced with the same situation, I would have made the same decision”says the mayor of Nueil-les-Aubiers. Florence Bazzoli, an elected member of the Bressuire opposition, also supports this decision.
“I do not question the work of this vice-president”Pierre-Yves Marolleau finally specifies before announcing the rules of the vote. The threshold of 30% of elected officials requesting a secret ballot not being reached, it is by show of hands that the withdrawal of Philippe Robin’s delegations is therefore voted unanimously minus two abstentions.
On the other hand, the election of the 11the Vice-president of Agglo2B is held by secret ballot. Only Bruno Bodin, also a municipal councillor of Bressuire from the majority list Bressuire et vous, is a candidate. He is elected by 59 votes for and 9 blanks.
