From now on, Guyana is a new destination in the cruise offer worldwide, and more particularly in the Caribbean and South America.
For two years, the Center Littoral Tourist Office has been fighting to make Guyana a “base port” for cruise ships.
“We are the youngest so we intrigue and we interest”, comments Linda Donatien, director of the OTCL.

For the first cruise circuits, the two tourism companies, Exploris and Club Med, are already showing good occupancy rates.
“We are at 80% for the first Exploris, and we are also close to 60/70% for Club Med, a very good figure for the first cruises to new destinations, underlines Linda Donatien, director of the OTCL. In general, a new circuit is 30% full.

These two luxury boats have several hundred passengers on board. They will offer them explorations off our coasts, but also expeditions on land.
“We are really in a non-invasive activity, with small capacities, we are not on the 4000-5000 or 10,000 mega boatscompares Linda Donatien, the director of the OTCL. We are also on shipping and interest in authentic Guyana. We bring together all the parameters of sustainable development in tourism.”
The Exploris One will leave Guyana in eight days. Before that, it will see the arrival of Club Med, the largest sailboat in the world.
