The synthetic pitch at the Brossolette stadium, delivered in February, was inaugurated on Thursday, June 27. This pitch, equipped with shelters for the benches, is also equipped with nets in the goals in the colors of the main user, the Racing Club de Chambéry. It is also made available to schools and leisure centers, outside of training hours.

This space with its green gradient stripes is draining, slightly curved and filled with cork. It requires almost no maintenance. After that of the Parc de la Junca, intended in particular for the Jeunesse Villenavaise club, this second synthetic pitch was inaugurated in the presence of Christophe Fugeray, general director of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine football league. He recalled the league’s contribution to this “new generation pitch, sometimes criticized but which has many advantages in terms of water and product savings.”

Another financer, the Department was represented by Martine Jardiné. The latter recalled the particular attention paid by the Departmental Council to the ecological dimension. “Finally” whispered Mayor Michel Poignonec, who welcomed the disappearance of the stabilized ground that he himself experienced when he started playing football at RC Chambéry, before becoming an educator and then taking the path of Jeunesse Villenavaise.

One for rugby

He recalled that this new pitch was a commitment of the former mayor Patrick Pujol, which he himself then continued and completed, halfway through his term. Michel Poignonec announced the creation of two other synthetic pitches: one at the swimming pool complex for AS Chambéry and, “after having done a lot for football”, one for rugby at the Trigant stadium. Financial capacities are being studied in order to determine the deadline.

The Brossolette pitch required major work and has integrated lighting, which is more economical and comfortable (824,000 euros). The councillor also announced the renovation of the main pitch, including the carpet and the stand. Finally, he congratulated the club and its president, Guillaume Latrille, for his investment and a great season that ended one point away from promotion to R2.
