The campaign for the legislative elections continues in the 501 constituencies where there will be a second round next Sunday.

2024 legislative elections

In the 10th constituency of Hauts-de-Seine, many voters do not know the Prime Minister’s socialist rival. Gabriel Attal came out on top in the first round. Do his name and his vote favor him? His opponent, Cécile Soubelet, wants to believe not. She tells us: “I really feel like David versus Goliath, because in fact, I take the metro, I do my shopping. People see that I am like them. I also know the issues of the constituency particularly well.”

“Totally fed up”

The Prime Minister is multiplying himself on the ground. Half the time in his constituency and the other to support other candidates, like this Tuesday morning in Paris. Minister and candidate, for him, it is an argument: “I have always been there for the schools, for the students, for the start of the school year, to also allow them to visit the different ministries that I have occupied, I have intervened in important files on security, on employment in my constituency”.

In the Somme, there is another duel, between a star, François Ruffin, and a much lesser-known candidate. When asked, passers-by struggle to recognize her face. But for these voters, the name matters less than the party: “Yes, Mr. Ruffin is very well known, but hey, he’s not from the party we want. For that to change. It’s a total fed-up feeling.” On her posters, the candidate particularly highlights national figures, Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella.
