We will have to get used to seeing Klay Thompson wearing a jersey other than that of the Golden State Warriors. The American guard (or winger) has signed a three-year contract with the Dallas Mavericks, a franchise that was a finalist in the last NBA season, worn by Slovenian Luka Doncic (25 years old).

While the Lakers, the Los Angeles franchise where Thompson was born, were also interested, it was the Mavericks who got their hands on one of the best shooters in the League. Klay Thompson still holds the record for the number of three-pointers made in an NBA game, with 14 successful three-pointers (against the Chicago Bulls, on October 29, 2018).

In Dallas, Klay Thompson will try to win a fifth NBA championship ring. He signed a 3-year contract (one with an option), for around 50 million euros. His association with Doncic and Kyrie Irving is enough to make Mavericks fans salivate.
In exchange for Klay Thompson, the Warriors received two second-round draft picks (the lottery to sign new players each season). A meager compensation.
