Suspected of burglaries in the city centre of Bourges, they are arrested again for damages

Two men, initially summoned to court in February 2025 for several burglaries in the city center of Bourges, have been arrested again and taken into custody. They are expected to be brought before the Bourges public prosecutor’s office this Tuesday, July 2.

Two men aged 27 and 29 were arrested and taken into custody late this Monday, July 1st. They are suspected of having damaged barriers while trying to enter a building under construction on Rue Barbès in Bourges, with a view to squatting inside.

Still in police custody this Monday evening, the two men, homeless, should be the subject of an appearance on prior admission of guilt (CRPC) this Tuesday, July 2, indicates the Bourges prosecutor’s office which plans to request a firm prison sentence.

The need to put an end to violations

This criminal response is justified by the multiplicity of facts attributed to the two men and “the need to put an end to them”, indicates the Bourges prosecutor’s office. Beyond the damage on Monday, numerous thefts and burglaries, for which the two men were initially summoned to appear before the Bourges criminal court in February 2025, will be joined to the CRPC procedure.

Several offences noted by the military in Neuvy-sur-Barangeon

The two suspects are accused of having, between the end of May and the beginning of June, burgled several businesses in the city centre of Bourges, including a restaurant, several costume jewellery shops and a shop selling Coiff’idis hairdressing equipment and accessories.
