The New York Mets were without Brandon Nimmo for Monday night’s game against the Washington Nationals after a disturbing incident in his hotel room.

Early in the morning, Brandon Nimmo woke up feeling unwell and lost consciousness, injuring his head in the fall. He suffered a cut on his forehead but fortunately avoided more serious injury.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza reassured fans that Nimmo had undergone a series of tests to rule out any serious injuries.

“He passed all the tests this morning,” Mendoza said. “We wanted to make sure we didn’t miss anything. Luckily, everything came back negative, so I think we got lucky.”

Despite the scare, Nimmo remains optimistic about his return to the field. He appeared at the stadium with a bandage on his forehead, telling reporters he would sit out the game against the Nationals as a precaution. Brandon Nimmo hopes to return to the lineup soon, motivated by his strong performances this season.

Nimmo’s contributions were significant. With a .247 batting average, 13 home runs, 50 RBIs and an .815 OPS in 77 games, he became a potential first-time All-Star candidate.

Recently, he hit his 100th career home run and an RBI double in a game against the Houston Astros.
