It’s been official for a few hours, Klay Thompson is no longer a Golden State player since he was traded to the Mavericks. But the counterpart recovered by the Californians in this exchange is so crazy that it provoked the ire of the fans.

The last few hours have been particularly eventful behind the scenes at the NBA. While we had just learned of Paul George’s arrival at the Sixers, it was Klay Thompson who also saw his departure from the Warriors come to fruition. After 13 years in the Bay, the sidekick of Stephen Curry will therefore play for the Mavericks… but it took some maneuvering to make such a transfer possible.

It was indeed through a three-team sign-and-trade that the rearguard became a player for the Texan franchise, where he will join Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. To do this, Dallas sent Josh Green to the Hornets at first, but we were especially waiting for the counterpart that Golden State would get. It was revealed by Shams Charania and the least we can say is that there is reason to be shocked.

Fans furious after Klay Thompson sign-and-trade

The Mavericks sent two second-round draft picks to the Warriors to complete the Klay Thompson sign-and-trade to Dallas.

A little reminder is necessary here: Klay Thompson at the Warriors, that’s four championship titles, 793 regular season games, 15,531 career points as well as 2,481 three-pointers made (6th all-time total). So we’re not talking about a simple towel waver, although he has had some struggles this season. However, one could be mistaken given the counterpart… and unsurprisingly, the Dubs fans are outraged.

That’s all? No Mike Kleber or even Dwight Powell brother

The Warriors are so finished lol

Klay Thompson is a living legend for the Warriors, one of the best shooters in history, but the franchise will have received only a pittance in exchange for his departure to Dallas. GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. has definitely not scored many points with the fanbase since he took over for Bob Myers…
