In a press release, the Republic of Values/Réewum Ngor warns of the risk of an institutional crisis that the country absolutely does not need. Thierno Alassane Sall and his comrades call on President Bassirou Diomaye Faye as guarantor of the proper functioning of institutions, stressing the need to find a compromise to this situation.

According to the party of the former presidential candidate, Thierno Alassane Sall, the controversy over the general policy statement was unnecessarily fueled and amplified by the press conference held by the deputies of the YEWWI ASKAN WI coalition and the communication on the subject by the Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko.

The statement notes that the argument that the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly are not up to date to justify the Prime Minister’s refusal to appear before the national representation within the framework of Article 55 of the Constitution is both curious and frivolous, regretting this position.

The press release also deplores this situation which further plunges the country into a futile debate at a time when all energies should be used to seek the development of the Senegalese people and the prosperity of the country.

Consequently, the Republic of Values calls on the President of the Republic as guarantor of the regular functioning of institutions to invest in quickly finding a solution to this artificial conflict.
