Clothes worn by the band during the July 17, 2023 show were donated, including the tie of the late singer Karl Tremblay, the pink dress of violinist Marie-Anik Lépine, the t-shirt of guitarist and main songwriter Jean-François Pauzé, and the shoes of bassist Jérôme Dupras.

The artist management company La Tribu completed the donation with a backstage access card that the entire Cowboys Fringants production team had to wear, it was also indicated in a press release.

“We could not miss this show which, since the announcement of its postponement, has taken on an unsuspected scale, a social dimension whose relevance was glaring for a museum of society like ours,” said Stéphan La Roche, President and CEO of the Musée de la civilisation, in a press release.

The long-awaited concert at the FEQ last summer by Cowboys Fringants was originally scheduled for July 13. It was ultimately cancelled due to bad weather. The FEQ organizers did not want to take any risks and asked festival-goers to leave the site as soon as possible and seek shelter.

Fans were eagerly awaiting this show, as the group had been forced to cancel a few dates during the summer due to the cancer that singer Karl Tremblay was battling. The festival had finally decided to resume the entire evening’s programming on July 17. The FEQ was supposed to end Sunday evening, but this resumption had added an extra day to the calendar, much to the delight of festival-goers.

According to the group, the event attracted 90,000 people to the Plains of Abraham.

Singer Karl Tremblay passed away on November 15 at the age of 47 after being diagnosed with prostate cancer in January 2020. He had announced his illness in July 2022. His death sparked a significant outpouring of love, culminating in a national tribute ceremony at a packed Bell Centre on November 28.
