The Minister of Transformation and Civil Service is a candidate for the legislative elections in the 3rd constituency of Paris. Before the second round, he is ten points behind his ecologist opponent from the New Popular Front.

Stanislas Guerini will surely play for his survival in politics from this coming Sunday, July 7. In the first round, the minister, in an unfavorable ballot, came in second place, with 33.99% of the votes, far behind his ecologist opponent from the New Popular Front. Léa Balage El Mariky collected 46.15% of the votes.

Minister of Transformation and Civil Service, Stanislas Guérini seems to be paying for his image with some voters. “He reflects too much the bourgeois bohemian, the privileged,” assures a voter on BFMTV.

“We haven’t seen him much”

Stanislas Guerini also suffers from his limited presence in the constituency over the last two years. “We haven’t seen him much in the constituency, so I think that must have worked against him. I’m not saying I’d like to be in his shoes, but I’m saying it’s going to be complicated for him,” says another voter.

The final argument against the candidate is his membership in the presidential majority, previously an asset and now a handicap.

“All those who are labelled next to Macron, that’s it, they don’t want him anymore, they want to change and move on,” thinks a voter.

Jean-Claude, however, does not share this opinion at all. He still has difficulty understanding this score and defends the Minister of the Civil Service. “He is very nice, he is very kind, very welcoming, but you have to be next to him,” believes this retiree.
