Ludivine Daoudi, RN candidate for the first constituency of Caen, will not continue in the second round. The photo showing a Luftwaffe headdress was taken “several years ago in a weapons exchange”.

The photo had made the rounds on social networks on Monday. A photo of the RN candidate for the 1st constituency of Calvados, Ludivine Daoudi, where we can see her with a Nazi cap screwed on her head, had caused an outcry. Tuesday morning, on France Blue Normandy Philippe Chapron, departmental delegate of the National Rally in Calvados, indicated that the candidacy had been withdrawn “from today” before the second round of legislative elections.

In the photo taken “several years ago in a gun fair in Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives » et «that she does not deny“According to the delegate, the candidate can be seen wearing a Luftwaffe non-commissioned officer’s cap, displaying a swastika, the Nazi insignia. “The photo is in bad taste”acknowledges the RN leader. The candidate had obtained 19.95% of the votes cast, finishing third behind Joël Bruneau, mayor of Caen (DVD), first with 43.11%, and Emma Fourreau (NFP), second with 34.82%. The latter also relayed this photo on her X account on Monday.

«[Cette décision] was taken in consultation, at headquarters level, said Philippe Chapron. “We cannot, when we hold elections, ask our candidates to provide us with photos. And why not photos from 30 or 40 years ago? In any case, we cannot accept this kind of thing.” There will therefore be no three-way race in this constituency.

After this announcement, Emma Fourreau congratulated herself on her X account. “Calvados is the Resistance, not the Vichy regime”she wrote. “An RN candidate openly nostalgic for Nazism withdraws”rejoices Clémence Guetté, LFI deputy of Val-de-Marne re-elected in the first round.
