From Saturday 22 to Sunday 30 June 2024, the Le Mans fait son Cirque festival, organized by Le Plongeoir (Pôle National du Cirque Le Mans) offered a rich program on the Promenade Newton. Saturday 29 June, twenty-four events (shows, workshops, guided tours) were offered to the public. Vitav offers you an immersion in this event through five shows.
Planned on the Promenade Island, the show Deformation) professional was held under the bar marquee because of the rain. contortionist Elodie Guézou and tells his story through unique texts, while interacting with the public, questioning in particular our relationship with flexibility and dedicated work. The company TooBusyToFunk has also invited itself onto its modern, immaculate white stage. The complicity of the three young men, their costumes and their physical prowess completely captivated the audience.smiling from start to finish.
In a marked out mud field, two acrobats – Olivier Meyrou and Matias Pilet – brought the spectators together for a 50-minute floor performance. Their performance, entitled Footprints (« Eprints » in Spanish) symbolically recomposes the traces of our ancestors to connect it to our here.
25,000 festival-goers over eight days of performances
In the evening, at the permanent marquee, was played Radio Cassava the company Cirquons Flex. This show is about the “Terrible Years” experienced in Reunion Island during the Second World War. All accompanied by a enriching exhibition on a forgotten history.
Finally, the Cirque Queer set fire to his own marquee erected for the occasion. A rebellious, sensitive and electric celebration of LGBT+ stage identities, with a powerful message.
Over the eight days, Le Mans Fait Son Cirque welcomed nearly 25,000 festival-goers, who came to attend 90 performances of all kinds. These spectators are probably already eagerly awaiting the next edition of the festival, from June 19 to 29, 2025. See you next year !
