The 14th km college is suffocating!
The elected representatives of SNALC staff, students, APEPS parents, FRAPE, FCPE, Agents gathered today in the Board of Directors are sounding the alarm on the constant increase in the number of staff at this college for several years.
This college is characterized by a half-board of more than 750 students, very high noise levels representing a risk to the hearing health of all, movement flows on the floors and spaces that are very difficult to manage, absenteeism of students from the 6th grade making the continuity of learning difficult, disadvantaged socio-professional categories which led the college to enter the system CLA, a study hall that can no longer accommodate all the students, increasing anti-academic attitudes, which are unfavorable to the serenity essential to the acquisition of knowledge and skills by students, an overcrowded workforce of 949 students when 924 were planned in August 2024 for a capacity of 905 students.
We are asking that, from now on, students arriving in the area be assigned to the town’s middle schools with declining numbers, that attention be paid to class sizes and the middle school in general, and that the number of hours allocated to Education Assistants and the nurse be increased.
It is urgent to react before the re-sectorisation takes place, otherwise the number of staff will lead to a further deterioration in the working conditions of students and staff.
