The Rotary Club of Montpellier has enabled the La Cardabelle Institute of Motor Education (IEM) to equip its new motor skills room.
“Without the financial help of the Rotary Club of Montpellier we would not have been able to equip our new motor skills room to this level. Especially since the amount is significant! (6 410 €)“confides Olivier Guillebert, director of the Institute of Motor Education (IEM) La Cardabelle. “We are going to finish fitting out the room with two wall bars and mirrors, with funding from the ARS”adds Olivier. But what strikes the eye is the quality of the rehabilitation equipment that has just been delivered: electric table and treadmill, connected bike and vibrating platform.
Common values
All this was well worth a friendly inauguration in a small committee to mark the occasion, on June 21. Jean-Bernard Dubois, president of Adages, “thanks Rotary’s generosity and highlights the quality work carried out at La Cardabelle”. He insists on “the common values that bind the two associations”.
Values recalled by Françoise Radier, president of Rotary: “Service first, reach out to others, health first for children”The idea of financing the IEM’s physiotherapy equipment from one of the members, Gérard Sorel. “As soon as we knew the needs, we came to visit the establishment. In December we organized a lottery to finance this project consistent with our commitments.”
A gift for the 40 residents
This new equipment is a necessity in this establishment where rehabilitation was previously practiced in a space shared with other educational stakeholders. A welcome gift for the 40 young people of the IEM (6 to 20 years old) with motor disabilities and the three physiotherapists of the establishment.
