It is on the premises of theformer restaurant La Bourrinewhich Flora Miranda, new manager of the establishment, opens what she calls “a guesthouse”.
The concept consists of reconciling theclassic hotel-restaurant La Grande Baie, where everyone can come and eat and reserve a room, and a permanent accommodation for independent elderly people.
Nursing assistant for ten years
After a career in the hotel and catering industry, Flore Miranda, nursing assistant, has devoted the last ten years to supporting residents in retirement homes and at home.
I want to offer these residents more time to listen to them, to share fun moments that are essential to their lives. Our society should better take into account the well-being of our elders, which is what led me to develop this different accommodation project.
Services for residents
Building on this innovative idea, a cook and a waiter have been hired, and a menu is being developed, “honoring local products”, specifies Flora Miranda.
The establishment has a capacity of 150 place settings and understands around ten rooms. Finally, this team aims to offer permanent accommodation, but associated with a certain number of services.
Flora Miranda would like to emphasize: “Our ambition is to provide breakfast in the room, lunch and dinner and a snack in the common area on the ground floor. Ultimately, the idea is also to offer multiple and varied activities such as cooking workshops, discussion groups, cultural outings among others. »
Entertainment for everyone at the end of the week
Beyond this atypical project, the manager plans weekend activities for younger customers and offers a service for family events (marriage, baptism, etc.).
Concerning permanent accommodation for an independent person who can bring small furniture belonging to them as well as a small animal, the cost amounts to €2,900 per month (accommodation of 25 to 32m2, catering, laundry and cleaning). A request for housing allowance may be studied by the Family Allowance Fund.
And a catering service
While waiting for its opening in the first days of December, the establishment offers a takeaway service, which it implements as part of its catering activity.
