Paris: why traffic will be difficult in part of the 15th arrondissement this Tuesday morning

A short maneuver that should infuriate motorists. The Paris Police Prefecture announced that the circulation of vehicles and pedestrians would be prohibited on the port of Javel-bas, in the 15th arrondissement, this Tuesday, July 2, 2024. In a press release, the authorities indicate that this interruption will follow the “helicopter flyover” between “8:30 and 9:00” as part of a “logistics operation”.

Weather as a party pooper?

For the purposes of this exercise, the prefecture specified that the security perimeter would include the “quai de Grenelle”, the “rue Linois”, the « Emeriau Street”, the “Theater Street” and the « “Beaugrenelle slab”. This area is located a few meters from the Eiffel Tower, one of the most touristic sites in the capital. The closure of these accesses should cause inconvenience for motorists, stuck in the traffic jams during peak hours.

Unless weather conditions disrupt the helicopter’s flight plan, which will fly over the Porte de Saint-Cloud, then the André-Citroën park and the Boulevard de Grenelle. In the event of climatic or “technical” incidents, the operation will take place on Wednesday, July 3 or Thursday, July 4, as specified by the authorities. According to Météo-France, the sky will be overcast on Tuesday morning, with a risk of showers.
