The celebrations organized by the City of Témiscaming for Canada Day were a great success this afternoon. More than 150 people took part in the activities, according to the organization.

Inflatable games and activities for the whole family were offered at Philippe-Barette Park. Fireworks will take place later in the evening, at 10 p.m.

It’s certain that the current situation, in our reality here in Témiscaming, in Kipawa and in Kebaowek, it’s not easy with the plant. So this year, it was even more special.explains Julie Loyer, assistant to the general management of the City and one of the organizers of the event.

She is pleased to see several families reunited together, especially in the context of the loss of 275 jobs.

We can see that it’s not just small families, but also grandparents who come, so we try to organize activities that will appeal to all age groups to brighten up and bring people together.says Ms. Loyer.

The neighboring municipality, Kipawa, also offers evening activities, including a show and fireworks near the municipal quay.
