At the end of the longest stage of the 2024 edition of the Tour de France (230.8 km between Lombardy and Piedmont), it was the Eritrean Biniam Girmay (Intermarché-Wanty) who won the sprint in the streets of Turin in a peloton thinned by a massive fall two kilometers from the finish. It was the Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz who took the Yellow Jersey.
