The Sainte Monique nursing home in Toulouse, located on Rue du Tchad in the Arènes district, has been shaken by the death of one of its residents during the night of Thursday, June 27 to Friday, June 28. An investigation has been opened, confirms the Toulouse public prosecutor.
The suspect, a 77-year-old resident
The deceased resident was 97 years old and was part of the Alzheimer’s unit, France Bleu Occitanie reported. the National Association for Research and Solidarity Action which notably manages this Toulouse establishment welcoming 80 residents. Of the “violent blows” were brought to his face indicates justice.
The suspect is a 77-year-old man, also a resident of this nursing home, the prosecution said. The latter was also part of the Alzheimer’s unit. His police custody has been lifted. At this stage, his hearing could not take place due to potential psychiatric problems. He is, to this day, no longer in the nursing home, the association indicates.
Crisis management
Psychological support has been put in place for the families of the residents as well as for the staff affected by this event.
