TORONTO – This June 30, the 2024 Pride parade, organized by Pride Toronto, brought together more than 250 groups marching in front of several thousand people, including the French-speaking convoy, bringing together some key organizations in the Franco-Toronto community. Return in immersive images to the heart of the Franco parade, infiltrated by ONFR.

Clouds of rainbows and Franco-Ontarian flags took over Bloor Street this Sunday afternoon, at the intersection of Church Street, where the parade began.

FrancoQueer, the organization dedicated to French-speaking 2SLGBTQIA+ people in the province, opened the French-speaking march, the focal point closing its Franco Pride month.

Members of the Viamonde School Board were present to parade, accompanied by parents and their children, displaying their multi-coloured “Proudly Exemplary” banner.

The TFO media group was also part of the procession, followed by the group from the University of French Ontario, which brought together professors and students.

On either side of the iron barriers, French-speaking members of the audience cheered the procession in the language of Molière.

At the microphone ofONFRConstant Bernard, a Franco-Ontarian who came to celebrate Pride, expressed the importance of being present and feeling represented.

“It’s very important for me as a gay person to be there and it’s very important for the community to be able to come together and celebrate together,” he explained.

“That’s why we’re here, we’re proud and it’s so beautiful to see all the people who are there together. It’s one of my favorite days of the year! »
