This is via a press release on Monday 1is July 2024 that Juliette Woillez announced that she was officially supporting the outgoing MP for the third constituency of Deux-Sèvres, Jean-Marie Fiévet.
Eliminated in the first round of the legislative elections on Sunday June 30, the candidate of the New Popular Front (18.94% of votes cast) had called on Sunday evening to block the National Rally, represented by Philippe Robin, without however showing her support for Jean-Marie Fiévet, candidate for Ensemble.
“We believe that candidate Fiévet is, despite everything, a Republican”
“We, candidates of the New Popular Front in Nord-Deux-Sèvres, are disappointed with the results of this first round, we note with sadness that the RN is no longer seen as a danger by our fellow citizens”she wrote on behalf of herself and her deputy, Bernard Arru.
Still emphasizing the mobilization of voters, they “simply regret that a candidate like Philippe Robin, who betrayed his camp and his republican values, while defending a social and economic program similar to that of the President of the Republic, came out on top in this constituency”.
And to conclude: “It is with great self-denial that we call for a vote for Jean-Marie Fievet, who is nevertheless the representative of the policy of an irresponsible president, because we believe that the candidate Fiévet is, despite everything, a republican.”
