Kick-off of the Biarritz meeting
CThis is a meeting like no other. In July, the Biarritz meeting is a must for many, professionals included. It must be said that it combines guaranteed good weather, quality of life and gastronomy of the South-West, a sense of hospitality and regional values of the Basque country.
The meeting which opens this Tuesday is special and the president of the Société des Courses au Trot de Biarritz (SCTB), Claudie Hassenforder-Chabriac, tells us why: “The horse racing meeting that we organize in July is an activity that is an integral part of the history of the city of Biarritz and whose success has not waned since 1954. We will therefore celebrate the 70th anniversary of our Hippodrome des Fleurs this summer.” Regarding the festive spirit that permeates the meeting, she adds: “Swimming, surfing, visiting the city and its museums: the famous seaside resort of Biarritz has no shortage of attractions during the day. With the proposed program, the Hippodrome des Fleurs will be, during its evening events, a place where people live together, which extends the days at the beach and where the spectacle of the drivers follows that of the surfers.”

July 2, 4, 6, 9, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 25, 26 and 30
On the various highlights of the meeting, the president specifies: “More than 90 trotting races will be held over 13 evenings, from Tuesday 2 July to Tuesday 30 July, and themed entertainment will accompany them so that these evening events are a celebration where everyone can meet, from accomplished racegoers to families. In particular, we will benefit from the “Race And Care” evening on 2 July; the “hippodrome en fête” evening on Saturday 6 July, which will be free with many activities for children; the Biarritz associations’ evening on 11 July and the big costume party on 23 July for the “Prix Biarritz Années Folles”. On the track, the main events will follow one after the other, in particular the Prix du Président de Folleville on 18 July, which is, with its distance of 3,750 metres, an exciting endurance race. And of course, there is the Grand Prix de la Ville de Biarritz on Friday 26 July, the sporting highlight of the meeting.”
Select European Yearling Sale : catalogue en ligne
NA summer new addition to Arqana Trot’s offering, the Select European Yearling Sale, which offers a catalog of exclusively foreign yearlings, is scheduled for Tuesday August 27, 2024 on the sales agency’s Deauville site. This first edition, organized in partnership with the Scandinave Selected Sales agency, will in some way launch the sales of selected yearlings positioned from Wednesday August 28 to Friday August 30.
The catalog of this new sale is online (to be found via this LINK). The sale will include 95 yearlings from the world’s top stallions. There will be products from Maharajah (8 lots), Readly Express (4 lots), Calgary Games (7 lots), Varenne (4 lots), Father Patrick (8 lots), Greesnhoe (3 lots), Chapter Seven (2 lots), Gimpanzee (1 lot), Muscle Hill (3 lots), Tactical Landing (11 lots).
Several French stallions will be represented by foreign products. This will be the case of Ready Cash (1 lot), Face Time Bourbon (6 lots), Bold Eagle (1 batch) and Love You (4 lots).
Chinon meeting postponed to August 17
EDue to the bad weather of the last few days which made the track impassable, the Chinon-Richelieu meeting of July 7 is canceled and postponed to Saturday August 17, 2024.
