Of the 34 young people who competed in 2024 at the 39e edition of the competition One of the best apprentices in France, 23 won a departmental medal. Of these, 12 were distinguished at the regional level. All were honored during a ceremony on Monday June 24, at the grain market in Blois, representing the professions of aesthetics, hairdressing, construction, catering, etc.

“You are the artisans and business leaders of tomorrow”

“These professions, although they still have an image that they do not deserve in my eyes, constitute an important part of the economy”said Olivier Fenaille, president of the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (MOF) group in Loir-et-Cher. He praised the perseverance of these apprentices who have followed through on their commitment, whether they are qualified or not. “You are the artisans and business leaders of tomorrow. »

While two candidates will take the MAF competition at the national level, next September, the results are already in for the others. For the moment, Paolo Beaufeu is the only apprentice in the department to have obtained the national gold medal in cover design. The 18-year-old from Chailles spent between 350 and 400 hours to create his work. Others have failed but do not regret the experience at the highest level: like Maxime Rigolet, apprentice landscape gardener, who decided to stop his studies to work.

After this rich experience which they will not fail to include on their CV, some will perhaps one day try the MOF competition.
