Avignon Off Festival: Moby Dick, a must-see!

The Moby Dick is a huge cargo ship, the largest in the world, as legendary as the white whale whose name it bears. It is 2002 in Le Havre, and here it is arriving at the port to unload its goods. For the port management, it is an opportunity to consider a complete restructuring. For the dockers, it is a tsunami that threatens to sweep them all away. What to do in the face of the emergency, other than strike?

The Moby Dick is an extraordinary show for the Off festival, which takes us for almost an hour and a half, with around ten actors and a setting that continues to transform before our eyes to tell us the daily life of these struggling dockers. , a fight for their rights made of frank camaraderie and solidarity. It’s poignant, it’s galvanizing, it’s a show that feels good and makes you want to fight. A must see.

Moby Dick at the Théâtre des Gémeaux, 10 rue du Vieux Sextier, from June 29 to July 21 (closed on July 2, 9, and 16), at 11:40 a.m.
