On the sidelines of the International Africa Development Forum organized by the Attijariwafa bank Group, APIX had the opportunity to meet Senegalese people established in the Cherifian kingdom.

The general director of APIX Bakary Séga Bathily says he is satisfied with four intensive days of meetings, exchanges and agreements which herald fruitful prospects in terms of investments.

“We had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Babacar Dieye, President of the Association of Senegalese Nationals in Morocco, accompanied by a representative group of Senegalese from the Diaspora residing in Casablanca,” he rejoices.

The meeting was held under the presidency of HE Youssoupha Diop, Consul General of Senegal in Casablanca, and with the participation of Sokhna Maimouna Diop, Deputy Director of CBAO Groupe Attijari Wafa Bank, and Abdou Souleye Diop, President of the Commission Africa of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM).

“We renew our thanks to them for their concern, always as inspired as it is patriotic. During this meeting, we carried this message of hope for a new Senegal, an uninhibited Senegal and above all a just and sovereign Senegal around the implementation of the PROJECT’s vision: “Produce by us, for us and for the world” . We encourage them to organize and believe in this project,” he explains.

Continuing the general director Bakary Séga Bathily is committed to supporting the diaspora for a solid and prosperous economic return.

“For our part, APIX is committed to facilitating their “economic return”. Soon, we will launch several tools for the Senegalese diaspora, which is the leading investor in Senegal with remittances reaching 2.2 billion euros in 2023, representing around 10% of the national GDP.”

“With the Ministry of Agriculture and the Secretariat of State for Senegalese Abroad, we intend to work hard to realize the various projects and especially launch the concept of “Diaspora Cooperative” in order to further boost investments in the agricultural sector, with a projection of creating more than 10,000 direct and indirect jobs and an increase in agricultural production of 15% by 2025,” he concludes.
