Chalets, skiing, ice rink, climbing: La Villette transformed into a Christmas village!

For the first time this year, La Villette is adorned with sparkling lights and reveals to us the very first edition of its Christmas village. Facing the Grande Halle, a swarm of chalets invades the Place de la aux Lions with the program of sliding sessions, family activities, a light parade, circus shows and of course a craft and gourmet market which will delight young and old alike for the end of year celebrations.

The Eastern Parisian Christmas market

The kick-off was given this Saturday November 23 for the La Villette Christmas village. On site, Parisians were able to discover a twenty chalets which obviously offer the great classics of the Christmas markets, namely, craft creations to make original gifts, but also, a plethora of typical delicacies of the end of year celebrationsranging from traditional wines and hot chocolates to comforting (and melting) aligots and truffades. Enough to warm up your body before tackling the many activities offered on site.

A party program

In addition to its sparkling market, the Christmas village of La Villette offers us a real Winter Party with sports and cultural programming with small onions. Winter sports will be in the spotlight, a little nod to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, including a central ice rink of 200 m2but also, a ski simulator to get some schuss in the middle of the city, a great climbing wall to try climbing and a curling rinks for those who have a bit of a competitive mind. On the cultural side, the village will also host one-off events ranging from the traditional Lantern Parade on December 7 to various free musical and circus activities, such as the shows du Zip Zap Circus Saturdays, December 14 and 21 at 3 p.m.
