After having formalized the arrivals of Fabrice Metz, Christiaan Van Der Merwe and Hugo Djehi, RC Vannes continues to announce its recruitment. This Monday, July 1, the Breton club, which will play in the Top 14 next season for the first time in its history, revealed the name of its fourth recruit: Filipo Nakosi.

The 32-year-old Fijian winger (1.83 m, 108 kg) arrives from Castres (Top 14) and signs with RCV until 2026, i.e. for two seasons.

Nearly 100 matches with Castres

After starting rugby in Fiji and playing in New Zealand, Filipo Nakosi arrived in France in 2015, in Agen, as a medical joker. He played three seasons in the colours of SUA, before joining RC Toulon in 2018, where he scored 10 tries in 18 matches.

Since 2019, he has played for Castres Olympique (24 tries in 97 matches), a club with which he notably participated in the Top 14 final in 2022 – lost against Montpellier. This season, he played 15 matches, often alongside former Vannes players Pierre Popelin and Nathanaël Hulleu. At the end of his contract with Castres, he was not retained by the club.

Filipo Nakosi also played in the 2019 World Cup in Japan, with Fiji.
