The rain forecast over the weekend disrupted several events planned in Sherbrooke and Magog.
The Magog Events Corporation has announced that the festivities planned for Sunday for Canada Day are canceled.
The activities planned for July 1 are maintained on Principale Street West and at Parc des Braves. On the program, an exhibition of vintage cars is planned, as well as outdoor bingo and musical performances.
Principale Street West will be closed between Merry and Sherbrooke streets from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Pif Classic disrupted by rain
Saturday night, all Pif Classic activities were canceled due to rain. The precipitation received Sunday morning also forced teams to evacuate water from the ball field.
We had a big vacuum truck. We vacuumed the fields, we managed to start the games at 8:15 with 15 minutes delay, but unfortunately at 9:30, we had another big downpour.
says the general director of the Classique Pif, Jean-Charles Doyon.
The whole team had to dry the pitches again before relaunching the games which were able to resume with a delay.
