“It’s a great pleasure!”: Paul Pogba came to encourage the Blues, a showman before France-Belgium

Paul Pogba, suspended last summer for doping, came to support the Blues in Düsseldorf before France-Belgium, this Monday.

The 2018 world champion took advantage of his visit to Germany to meet French supporters.

“I really miss you!” the former midfielder told the fans of the French team.

His return to the Euro… but unfortunately not on the pitch. Paul Pogba, world champion with the Blues in 2018, came to visit the supporters of the French team, this Monday, in Düsseldorf, before the France-Belgium match (to be followed on TF1, TF1+ and live commentary on TF1info) in the round of 16 of Euro 2024. Smiling, the midfielder with 91 international caps appeared on stage in front of 8,000 French fans gathered at the Casa Bleue, the gathering place for the French camp in Germany during the competition. It is a great pleasure ! (…) I miss you, I really miss you!“, launched Paul Pogba from the stage.

The former Juventus Turin executive has not appeared with the Blues since March 2022. Long injured, he missed the World Cup in Qatar. Then, last summer, Paul Pogba was suspended by the Italian Football Federation for doping after testing positive for testosterone. A sanction which forces him to stay away from the field until 2027, when he is now already 31 years old. “Today, I’m in supporter mode, explained the player. We’re gonna support our team. They need you. You don’t know how important you really are.”

In addition to Paul Pogba, another world champion should be present this Monday afternoon in the aisles of the Merkur Spiel-Arena, since Blaise Matuidi made the trip to support his former partners at the edge of the pitch.
