Prolific musician Devonté Hynes continues his orchestral adventure, this time curating the upcoming soundtrack for a show opening in New York this summer

Hard to stop Devonte HynesThe musician, better known under the pseudonym Blood Orange, continues his sonic adventure in his own name, this time taking care of the soundtrack of an upcoming Broadway show, entitled Job. He will compose the original music for the play, which is scheduled to premiere at the Hayes Theater on Broadway in July.

“Anyone familiar with Dev’s work already knows what a naturally brilliant storyteller he is. It’s no surprise, then, that his work on Job not only enriches the themes and narrative threads, but also deepens the emotional resonance of the piece.”Hannah Getts, one of the show’s producers, said in the press release.

Max Wolf Friedlich in writing Job, Michael Herwitz is the director.

The first of Job took place Off Broadway in 2023, and new Broadway performances begin July 15. The show officially opens July 30 and will run for a limited engagement through September 29.

Blood Orange’s latest studio album, Negro Swanwas released in 2018. A year later, the prolific musician released a mixtape, notably with Toro y Moi, called Angel’s Pulse.
