Aware of the need to develop innovative solutions to meet the challenges of sustainable mobility, the Valence Romans Mobilités joint syndicate is investing in a new bicycle parking service. In collaboration with a French company, the syndicate is setting up Véloboxes for occasional use, secure, modular bicycle shelters that do not require reservations.
The Vélobox service, already in place, allows users to park their bikes safely thanks to individual or collective lockers. Véloboxes are available throughout the territory, offering an ideal solution for combined bus/car + bike travel.
Given the increase in cycling, the need for secure parking is increasing, particularly for short periods. As of July 1, VRM is therefore offering new lockers for occasional rental, 100% recyclable and made in France.
3 new Installation sites
To improve accessibility and convenience for cyclists, Valence Romans Mobilités has installed these new Véloboxes in three strategic locations:
- Place du Champ de Mars in Valencia
- Avenue of President Herriot in Valence
- Europe roundabout in Romans-sur-Isère
This new equipment will make it possible to meet the demand of cyclists wishing to do their shopping, go to the cinema, to the museum, but also of cycle tourists passing through.
Access to these lockers is via payment by bank card, which means you don’t need an app, padlock or keys… The credit card acts as a badge to open the shelter door.
Prices: €0.50 for the first hour then €1 per additional hour (maximum 48 hours)
This project aims to increase the use of bicycles by offering practical and secure parking solutions, thus contributing to greener and more efficient mobility in the area.
