The mixed ensemble of Béguios, which seduced the public in the cathedral more than ten years ago, returns to the spa town on Wednesday July 3, at 8:30 p.m., “just to get out of our stronghold” says the co-president Gérard Laby.

Led by the charismatic leader Yves Panizoli, the 40 singers of the group, born from the merger of the Airoski de Béguios and Burgaintzi d’Arbouet choirs, from 18 villages, pay homage to their heritage. In a repertoire performed a cappella and where the Basque language takes pride of place, we will recognize the melodies of great local composers, Javier Busto, Sorozabal, the Orio poet Benito Lertxundi. The choir notably reserved the Basque Ave Maria, “Nerea izango zen”, ode to freedom and love (Hegoak).

We will appreciate “Baldorba”, a strong hymn to the country of Navarre, or even an arrangement sung in Latin of “L’Alleluia” by Leonard Cohen, that is to say about fifteen titles in all for this return to Dax. Talented txistulari, Yves Panizzoli will propose a musical interlude. Each song will be the subject of a presentation.

Participation : 10 euros.
