Can you go back over your journey?

Born in Brest, but from Concarnois by adoption, after passing a ST2S Technological Baccalaureate in July 2022, I joined a Bachelor of Science and Technology in Physical and Sports Activities. In 2023, during a summer job in the fish department of a supermarket, I discovered a real passion for this profession.

How did you carry out this reconversion?

In October 2023, registered at the CFA de Cuzon in Quimper, in CAP fishmonger, I joined the fishmonger La Roche in Concarneau on a work-study contract. Mariane Dupont, my trainer, suggested that I register for the MAF competition, the departmental and regional tests taking place at the same time and which could allow me to directly access the national level.

Were you confident before approaching this competition on April 8?

I thought that barely six months after the start of my training, it would be difficult… A multiple choice question on fish in general, a filleting test, the preparation of a seafood platter and for the catering part, the making of rillettes with the mackerel that we had filleted… And in the end, this reward that I am proud of.

What follow-up will you give to this competition?

I will take the national exam on September 11 in La Rochelle with the hope of winning a gold medal and the MAF title, then I plan to register for a CAP cuisine at the CFA in Cuzon, alternating with an internship at the Chantier where I would like to learn how to work with fish and continue to carry out my professional project.
