A time for rereading

Before this celebration, the laity in ecclesial mission had experienced a morning of essential rereading to discern the fruits of the mission, prepare for change and restore its mission in peace. As one lay person testifies, “rereading allows us to reveal the beauty of what may have been experienced”.

A time of thanksgiving

Celebrated by Mgr Crepy, the mass brought together lay people with varied missions: hospital chaplains, prison chaplains, foster homes, pastoral leaders of public education chaplaincies, members of diocesan services and even members of EAP. The missions may have been demanding, tough, but always fruitful. All testified to the joy of serving their brothers and the Church.

They were called three, four, five years ago and sometimes more. During these years, they were accompanied by the Service for Accompanying Lay People on an Ecclesiastical Mission (SALME). The SALME took care of them by ensuring their formation and their spiritual renewal, and helped them to place the mission in the Church in their lives as baptized people.

The mass was followed by a friendly aperitif during which everyone was able to exchange ideas before continuing on their journey, happy to be witnesses of our beautiful missionary Church.
