Off-duty cop kills squatter with service weapon

A police officer from the DOPC (public order and traffic department) was taken into custody on Saturday morning, according to reports. 20 Minutes from a police source. The civil servant, posted to Seine-Saint-Denis, is suspected of having opened fire, with his service weapon, on a man who had entered his grandmother’s house to squat the place and of having killed him.

According to our information, the events took place around 6:30 a.m., rue de Moscow, in Bobigny. The elderly woman alerted her grandson after hearing a noise at home. On site, the police officer discovered the squatter in the garage of the house and alerted his colleagues for an intervention.

He opened fire 7 times

A few minutes later, he called them back and explained that he had killed the man with his administrative weapon. According to him, the victim had become aggressive and had threatened him with an object. He then opened fire 7 times, hitting his target 6 times.

Alcohol and drug tests were negative. The police officer was taken into custody. He was still there Monday morning. An investigation was opened by the Bobigny public prosecutor’s office, entrusted to the Seine-Saint-Denis judicial police.
