Nearly 31% for the candidate of the New Popular Front against 28.87% for his opponent Gauthier Bouchet (RN). Sunday evening, outgoing MP Matthias Tavel (LFI) won the first round of early legislative elections in the eighth constituency, that of Saint-Nazaire and the five cantons that make it up.

“A simple and clear landscape”

The duel will continue next Sunday, with Audrey Dufeu (Renaissance) still in third place (20.28%). Faced with this possible three-way race, candidate Matthias Tavel believes “trust the voters. We are in a campaign where every voice will count. We are already in the campaign”.

According to the deputy elected two years ago against Audrey Dufeu, “The landscape is simple and clear. Is there a majority around the left against the RN? Audrey Dufeu’s decision to stay is surprising. In this, she takes her responsibilities. The final result could be decided by a few hundred votes”.
