The first round of early legislative elections took place on Sunday, June 30, 2024. Discover the candidates qualified for the second round in Colmar.

Three weeks after voting in the European elections, French voters were once again called to the polls. As a result of the presidential party’s poor electoral results, Emmanuel Macron announced the dissolution of the National Assembly and called new elections.

After a lightning and historic electoral campaign, many more Colmarians turned out to vote than in the first round of the 2022 legislative elections (57.83% compared to 40.57% in 2022). They had to decide between eight candidates, including the outgoing Renaissance MP, Brigitte Klinkert.

As in the first round of the 2022 legislative elections, the latter came out on top in Colmar for this first round with 29.11% of the vote. She is ahead of the National Rally candidate, Laurent Gnaedig (27.08%) who also qualified for the second round.

The candidates in the running and their scores for this first round in Colmar:

  • Brigitte KLINKERT – Ensemble – Renaissance (outgoing) : 29,11%
  • Laurent GNAEDIG – National Rally : 27,08%
  • Aïcha FRITSCH – New Popular Front (PS) : 24,53%
  • Yves HEMEDINGER – The Republicans : 14,91%
  • Thiébault ZITVOGEL – Our country : 1,86%
  • Cyrielle COUVAL – Stand up France : 1,29%
  • Gilles SCHAFFAR – Workers’ Struggle : 0,83%
  • Ariane BISCHOFF-BATMA – Reconquest : 0,38%

During the first round of the 2022 legislative elections, behind Brigitte Klinkert (33.58%) we found the Les Républicains candidate, Yves Hemedinger (21.19%) and Aïcha Fritsch for NUPES with 19% of the vote. The National Rally, led by candidate Steven Schoenbeck, only came in fourth place with 12.71% of the vote.

If we go back a little further in time, during the 2017 legislative elections, the results are again different, since this time the LR candidate, Eric Straumann, came in first with 32.97% of the votes, ahead of Stéphanie Villemin ( LREM) which collected 29.38% of the votes. The National Front reached third place with 9.67% of the votes.
