It is perhaps a first step taken towards the absolute Grail. Elected Miss Cannes last week, Ève Sellier, 20, is at the dawn of her dream: that of winning the coveted title of Miss France. This young dancer, born in Boulogne-sur-Mer, but a resident of the Riviera since she was little, first hopes to become Miss Côte d’Azur, on July 28 in Fréjus, to vie for the national title. With a sparkling look and assured presence, Ève Sellier reveals herself from the height of her 74 meter height.

How do you feel a few days after your election?

I feel good, still overwhelmed with emotion. It’s very complicated to explain, there is a lot of joy and enthusiasm. I really want to go as far as possible, to the end.

Did you expect to win?

Not at all! I didn’t expect it, it was a shock. I was very surprised.

Was this your first competition?

Yes, it was a first for me. But, as I am a model, I used to walk and do shows. But it remains a total surprise!

Why did you run for Miss Cannes?

Like many young women, it’s a childhood dream to win these competitions. My family encouraged me a lot and pushed me. I was waiting to have more confidence in myself to get started and be more comfortable. But, since I’m a professional dancer, I gained a lot of confidence in myself: I dance in heels, I do fashion shows… It was the moment.

What does this election mean to you?

This is an opportunity for me to represent this beautiful city: first at the Miss Côte d’Azur competition, then, I hope, at Miss France.

So your job is dancer…

Yes, I am a dancer in events. I perform at parties or events, whether in hotels, restaurants, galas, etc. Lately I’ve been dancing at the Carlton and the Marriott!

Ultimately, my goal is to dance on concert tours. I have this ability to dance to modern jazz, contemporary, cabaret or pop… I’m quite eclectic.

What topics are close to your heart?

Respect for women, against violence, against aggression… These are my daily battles that I intend to lead.

In your opinion, what does it take to be a good Miss?

I think you have to convey a good self-image, be well behaved, know how to speak and know what you’re talking about. But also to defend causes that speak to us, to be responsive and to listen to people.
