Who are the qualifiers? The situation summarized in Haute-Vienne, Creuse and Corrèze after the first round

Very strong mobilization in Limousin for this first round of legislative elections, in the three departments. The National Rally comes out on top in Creuse, and in the second constituencies of Haute-Vienne and Corrèze. The point and point of view of our political scientist on the week to come.

73.12% participation in Corrèze, 72.32% in Haute-Vienne and 70.63% in Creuse. Limousin voters turned out massively for this first round of legislative elections, much more than in 2022, between 15 and 20 points.

No candidate was elected in any of the six constituencies, where, each time, three candidates obtained enough votes to remain in the second round.

However, on this Sunday evening, June 30, five triangular races are looming.

Limousin voters mobilized strongly and the ballot boxes delivered their verdict: five triangulars and a duel should be played out in the second round of these legislative elections.

Six candidates were in the running, and it was Bartolomé Lenoir, from the far-right union, who came first, with 33.35% of the votes. Followed by Catherine Couturier, the outgoing MP, from the New Popular Front, with 23.47%, and Valérie Simonet, various right, with 22.12%. There will, a priori, be a triangular for the second round, Valérie Simonet having expressed her desire to maintain her position.

  • In the first constituency, the outgoing New Popular Front MP, Damien Maudet, came out on top, with 36.94%, followed by Camille Dos Santos for the RN, with 32.83% and Isabelle Négrier, from the presidential majority, 26.99%.

A priori, it is a three-way race that will take place in the second round, with Isabelle Négrier hoping to stay in the race.

  • In the second constituency, Sabrina Minguet, from the RN, comes first with 36.86%, followed by outgoing deputy Stéphane Delautrette, 36.83% and Marie-Ève Tayot, from MODEM, 24.45%.

Duel or triangular in the second round, we do not yet know, Marie-Ève Tayot having not made her intentions known.

  • Finally, in the third constituency, Manon Meunier, outgoing New Popular Front MP, comes first, with 35.18%, followed by the Haute-Vienne leader of the RN, Albin Freychet, 34.85%, and Gilles Toulza, of the Republican Alternative , 26.65%

It is probably a triangular which will take place there in the second round.

  • In the first constituency, François Hollande came out on top, with 37.63%, followed by Maïté Pouget for the RN with 30.89%. Francis Dubois, the outgoing MP, now from the various right, follows with 28.64%.

It is a triangular which therefore a priori awaits the former President of the Republic in the second round, Francis Dubois having announced that he could maintain himself, to beat both the RN… and François Hollande.

    • Finally, in the second constituency of Corrèze, Valéry Elophe, from the RN, came out on top with 36.28%, followed by the outgoing LR MP Frédérique Meunier, 35.04%, and Amandine Dewaele, 26.63%.

As soon as the results were known, Amandine Dewaele, New Popular Front, announced that she would not continue, and that she called to vote for Frédérique Meunier, and beat the RN.

This Sunday evening, it was therefore the only Limousin constituency where the second round is guaranteed to be played out in a duel, and not a three-way race.
